Definitions

“Charity”: A charitable organisation chosen as the beneficiary of the surplus money donated to Trees for Good Causes

“Donor”: Supporter who makes a donation to the Trees for Good Causes campaign on the Birch Meadow Landscaping website

“Payments Processor”: PayPal

“Birch Meadow Landscaping Ltd”: Birch Meadow Landscaping Ltd, registered 3 Furze Park Road, Bratton Fleming, Barnstaple, Devon, EX314TA who runs the Trees for Good Causes Campaign. Also referred to as “we” / “us” / “our/ our website”

1.     About Trees for Good Causes Campaign

• A tree planting scheme that will be run and operated by Birch Meadow Landscaping Ltd.
•  The general public and businesses can purchase trees to offset their carbon footprint
• The surplus funds, after costs, will go directly to local charities
• The scheme runs from 1^st January 2021 to 31^st December 2021, with the trees being planted in spring 2022
• Each tree purchased will be planted locally in North Devon
• The trees will be planted with a spiral guard for protection and a bamboo cane for support. This will aid to the survivability of the trees
• Maven Marketing will be designing the website, branding allowing the scheme to operate through Birch Meadow Landscaping website
• The web page hosts a donation page where visitors can choose the amount they would like to donate to offset the individual or business carbon footprint
• A certificate of purchase/ offset will then be provided by Maven Marketing after the purchase, and business will receive a receipt that can be used for taxation purposes. 
• Businesses’ logo will be also added to the website as a contributor/ sponsor, with links to their website if wished by the business. They will also receive a donation badge that they can use on their social media and website too.  

2.     Donations

• Individuals will be charged £4.00 per tree planted 
  
• Businesses will be charged £5.00 per tree planted
• For the first 1,000 trees purchased by individuals, Birch Meadow Landscaping will provide the labour to plant them for free. Businesses’ will be charged planting from the first purchase
• A spreadsheet of costings will be kept and be available upon request. This will also be provided on completion of initiative in December 2021
• Upon completion of the Trees for Good Causes campaign, the surplus funds will be split equally between North Devon Hospice and South West Children s Hospice.

3.     Donations Payments Processor  

• We are acting as 3rd party supporter, therefore we pay normal transaction fees for all donations
• PayPal Commercial Transactions are 2.90% + fixed fee of 0.30 GBP 
• Each donor has an opportunity to cover the transaction cost by adding the above transaction fee to their donation
• Each donor has an opportunity to make the donation occurring each month
• The donation is processed by PayPal and we offer two payment getaways: through a PayPal account or by Credit/Debit card
• When a donation is made via our website the transaction is final and not disputable unless unauthorised use of your payment card is proved. If you become aware of fraudulent use of your card, or if it is lost or stolen, you must notify your card provider in accordance with its reporting rules.
